How to Make a Territories Map and Game in Halo Reach?

Territories is one of the multiplayer game types in "Halo: Reach." A number of territories, marked by a glowing circle, are placed around the map. The color of the circle indicates the team that controls that territory. A white circle is neutral. Standing inside a territory for a few seconds causes it to be captured. Each territory you control slowly adds points to your team's score. The team with the highest score at the end of the round wins. It is possible to create a Territories mode map in Forge, the game's map creator. There is an undocumented flag that needs to be activated, which causes some players problems making a Territories mode map.

Instructions

    • 1

Start Forge mode by selecting it from the main menu.

    • 2

Choose what map you want to modify. Any map can be used to make a Territories map.

    • 3

Change the game type to "Territories."

    • 4

      Press "Start Game."

    • 5

Press "Up" on the direction pad to go to edit mode.

    • 6

Press "X" to open the item menu.

    • 7

      Choose to place an objective.

    • 8

Move the objective marker around using the control stick.

    • 9

Press "A" to place the objective marker down. This marker indicates the center of the territory you are creating.

    • 10

Press the "X" button while placing your cursor over the objective marker. This opens the object options window.

    • 11

Change the label to "terr_object." This label is required to tell Forge the objective marker is a territory.

    • 12

Change the spawn sequence number. This is the number the territory is identified as. It must not be "0" or the same number as another territory.

    • 13

Repeat Steps 6 through 12 to place additional territories.
