How to Connect a 12 Amp Toggle Switch to Xbox LED Lights

The Xbox 360 is equipped with universal serial bus (USB) ports, making add-ons, such as LED lighting, easy to install. However, like most USB ports, these are always on whether the console is on or not, necessitating the addition of a small toggle switch. USB LED lights are powered by the small five volt charge supplied by the USB port, making the addition of a switch safe and useful. Adding a multiport toggle switch also expands your Xbox 360's multimedia capabilities.

Instructions

  Locate one of the USB ports on the lower right hand side of the Xbox 360. Plug a USB cable of the desired length into one of these ports.

  Plug the other end of the USB cable into the "IN" on the multiport switch. Choose a port on the multiport switch to plug the LED lighting into.

  Insert the USB plug into the chosen port on the switch. Add more USB devices up to the capacity of the switch as desired.

  Flip the on/off toggle on the switcher to supply and remove power from the LED lighting and other devices as you desire. As long as the Xbox 360 is plugged into AC power, the switch receives voltage.
