How to Hook Up an Xbox 360 to Two TVs

Playing the Xbox 360 with multiple people can prove frustrating with only one TV sometimes. Either you can't all sit close enough to the TV to see or maybe spectators want to view the action too; sometimes two TVs are better than one. The people at Microsoft have given customers the ability to hook up their Xbox to two TVs at once with the component HD AV cable that comes with most Xbox 360s.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 TV with composite input
  • 1 TV with RCA input
  • Xbox 360 composite HD AV cable (comes with most Xboxes)

Instructions

    • 1

Plug your composite HD AV cable AV side into the AV port on the back of the Xbox 360. The AV port is significantly wider than any other ports on the back of the Xbox 360 and will be labeled "AV." The AV end of the cable is the end of the cable with one wide, gray plug.

    • 2

On the AV end of the cord flip the switch to point to "SD." This turns the output into standard definition and sends the signal through both the RCA and component outputs.

    • 3

Plug the composite plugs (the red, green and blue plugs on the AV cable) into the composite port of your TV, which will be a three ports with red, green and blue rings labeled "Composite." Insert each plug into its corresponding port.

    • 4

Take the RCA plugs (the red, yellow and white plugs) and insert them into the RCA port of the other TV. The RCA plugs will have corresponding red, yellow and white ports.

    • 5

Turn on both TVs and set them to the respective composite and RCA inputs and play your Xbox normally.
