How to Get Rid of Speech Bubbles in Halo

While playing games from the "Halo" series on Xbox Live, you may occasionally see small speech bubbles next to other players' names, or even your own. These usually show up during an Xbox Live matchmaking session, and indicate that the player is in an Xbox Live party or involved in a private chat. This means they cannot send or receive messages to anyone who is not in their party or conversation. Unfortunately, it's currently impossible to remove these bubbles from other players' avatars, but you can remove speech bubbles from your own name through several methods.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "X" button on your controller if you are involved in a private chat and want to get out. This usually removes the speech bubble from your name, for a brief period of time.

    • 2

Press the silver Xbox Guide button on your controller, if you're still seeing chat bubbles next to your name. You can disable Voice Chat completely by accessing the Xbox Guide.

    • 3

Go to Account Management, and select your Xbox Live account.

    • 4

      Select the "Account Settings."

    • 5

Select the "Voice" option, and disable it.
