How to Lay Your Xbox Flat Down Instead of Up

The Xbox 360 is a rectangular video game console that can be positioned vertically or horizontally. Although it may not look as cool, laying the Xbox 360 down will prevent the console from falling over. The surface you choose to lay the Xbox 360 on should be flat, away from carpet and clean to prevent dust from gathering and causing the unit to overheat.

     Find a dust-free, well-ventilated area to lay the Xbox 360.

     Lay the Xbox 360 down with the air vents facing upward.

     Remove any objects next to the Xbox 360 that may obscure the air vents on the back and sides of the console.
