How to Make a Drawbridge in Halo 3: ODST Forge

Since arriving in late 2001 with "Halo: Combat Evolved," the Halo series has bravely led a generation of gamers into the now-standard framework of console first-person shooters. Halo's use of recharging shields, open environments and vehicular combat now appear in most games, let alone first-person shooting games. Not one to be outdone, "Halo 3" gave players the ability to create their own Halo areas with Forge World. One of the most interesting player designs to come out of Forge is the drawbridge, which opens like a medieval bridge in whatever level the player chooses to create.

Instructions

    • 1

Enter Forge mode and press "up" to go into the editor mode.

    • 2

Press the "x" button to bring up your list of materials. Locate and select "fence box" and spawn one after another in front of the last until you have the desired length of your bridge.

    • 3

Select "bottom receivers" from the list of materials and set them at the bridge's base on both sides of each fence box used.

    • 4

Pick "dumpsters" from the list of materials and place them on top of the receivers.

    • 5

Space a few sets of teleporters apart from one another on top of the fence box.

    • 6

Delete the fence boxes. Place a weapon holder with a gravity lift behind the desired point of where your bridge will be located.

    • 7

Place two dumpsters in front of the gravity lift and set a fusion coil behind the dumpsters.

    • 8

Blow up the fusion coil to activate the drawbridge.
