How to Get Past the Spiked Floor on Alone in the Dark

The spiked floor puzzle in "Alone in the Dark" can be frustrating if you don't know how to solve it. You'll encounter this trap late in the game during Episode 8, and you'll have to complete it to proceed. When you enter the spiked floor puzzle room, you'll see three sets of spike traps on the floor along a narrow passage leading to a sealed exit. Three pair of light beams sit on the sides of each trap. These light beams are the key to solving the puzzle.

Instructions

- 1
  Locate the post on the ground near the entrance to the room. Pick it up and walk over to the first set of light beams. Hold the post over the beam on the right side.

  Continue down the path to the second set of beams. Wait for the spikes to retreat into the floor, then hold the post over the left light beam.
- 3
  Advance across the room to the third set of light beams. When the spikes retract, hold the post over the beam on the right. The door will open and you can exit.
