How to Get a Scratched XBox 360 Game to Work With Toothpaste

Xbox 360 owners often have to deal with game discs that become scratched. Scratches can be caused by rough handling, accidental dropping or even laying a disc on a rough surface. A deep scratch can make a game disc unplayable. While there are professional companies that offer disc repair service, there is a way to attempt to repair an Xbox360 disc at home. Owners can use toothpaste to repair some scratches found on discs.

Rinse the game disc with lukewarm water. Do not dry with a cloth. Place the disc on a clean, flat surface for a half hour.

Apply a layer of toothpaste around the disc in a circular fashion. Next apply a layer of peanut butter to the disc in the same circular fashion. Leave the game disk to sit for 10-15 minutes.

    • 3

Carefully wipe the disc in a circular fashion with a cloth. Repeat this process until the toothpaste and peanut butter is removed.

Apply a new layer of toothpaste and peanut butter to the disc in a circular fashion. Place the disc in a container.

Add half a can of diet cola to the container. Next, place two tablespoons of baking powder into the container and seal it with the lid. Shake the container carefully to mix the cola and baking powder together. Allow the disc to sit for 10 minutes in the container.
