How to Get the Dastardly Achievement on Red Dead Redemption

"Red Dead Redemption" is a western-themed shooter that gives players the choice to play a true hero of the west or a villainous outlaw. The "Dastardly" achievement rewards players for giving into their wicked side and is a reference to old western movie villains. This achievement is unlocked when the player kidnaps a woman and ties her to the railroad tracks, much like a villain in a classic western movie. However, there is no hero around to save the woman from a grisly death, so this achievement is not for the feint of heart.

Instructions

- 1
  Lasso any woman character. Press the "Left Trigger" with your lasso equipped to aim and the "Right Trigger" to throw. When you have her roped, continue holding the "Left Trigger" and move in closer. Press the "Action" button when the hogtie option appears on the screen.

  Stand next to the hogtied woman and press the "Action" button again to pick her up. Carry her over to any horse and press the action button to place her on the back. Mount your horse like normal.

  Open your map to locate the nearest train tracks. The train symbol will indicate where the train currently is on the circuit. To avoid a long wait time, ride to an area that is close by where the train will be headed soon.

  Dismount your horse next to the train track. Press the "Action" button near the horse to pick up the hogtied woman. Walk over to the tracks and press the "Action" button again to place her down. Back away so that you are a safe distance from the oncoming train.

  Watch the woman get hit by the train to complete the achievement.
