Gamerscore
Each Xbox 360 console game, a game that consists of a disc, includes a possible gamerscore of 1000 points. Each downloaded game includes a possible 200 points. Whenever you unlock an "Achievement," you earn a preset amount of points. Each achievement requires a specific action, such as completing a level or killing a preset number of enemies. Your gamerscore consists of every point you earned in every game on your Xbox Live profile. For example, if you earned 150 points in "Assassin's Creed" and 450 points it "Assassin's Creed 2," your total gamerscore consists of 600 points.
Gamertag
The gamertag labels the profile that contains your avatar, friends list and save files. Each gamertag consists of numbers and letters and is about five to 15 characters in length. In most games, your thumbnail avatar and gamertag identify you. Other players input your exact gamertag to add you to their friends list or send you a message.
Add Gamerscore
Xbox Live allows you to edit your gamertag an unlimited number of times. However, each time you change your gamertag, you must pay a small fee. Though you can edit your gamertag to include your current gamerscore, you cannot edit your gamertag to include a dynamic gamerscore that changes as your score increases. Other players may be unsure to what the numbers on your gamertag refer and may believe that they are a meaningless set of numbers.
How to Edit
When you edit your gamertag, you replace it with a new gamertag. The new gamertag must be available, meaning no other player uses it as her gamertag. To edit your gamertag, sign into Xbox live, scroll to "My Xbox" and highlight your gamertag. Scroll to the "Change Gamertag" option and press the "A" button. Add money to your Xbox Live account, if necessary, and replace your gamertag with a gamertag that contains your gamersore. Highlight "Yes" and press the "A" button.
