How to Get the Crusader Boots on Oblivion

The Boots of the Crusader are a new item featured in the "Knights of the Nine" plug-in for "The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion." The Boots of the Crusader provide the wearer with the ability of Woodland Grace, which keeps natural animals --- bears, lions and wolves --- from attacking. The item is located in Kynareth's Grotto, which is a cave to the west of the Imperial City.

  Meet the ghost of Sir Juncan at the Priory of the Nines in the West Weald. Listen to his story about The Boots of the Crusader. Make Nature's Fury the active quest on your map, so that a map marker for Shrine of Kynareth is added.

  Look west of the Imperial City on the map to see the marker for the Shrine of Kynareth. Fast-travel to the location closest to it, or if you have already been to the Shrine of Kynareth, fast-travel directly to it.

  Speak with Alvita Vesnia, an Imperial priest. Ask her about The Boots of the Crusader when prompted by the dialogue at the bottom of the screen. After she informs you of a worthiness test, look on the map for a new marker for The Grove of Trials, which is close by.

  Travel by horse or foot to The Grove of Trials. Once there, look for a large, brown bear called The Guardian. Allow the bear to attack without fighting him back. Wait for the bear to remove the stone door in front of Kynareth's Grotto.

  Enter the grotto and take The Boots of the Crusader off the altar directly in front of the opening. Equip the boots to gain the ability of Woodland Grace.
