How to Build an Elevator in Halo 3

"Halo 3" has the exciting function of allowing players to build their own maps through "Halo 3: Forge." However, many map objects such as elevators are not included in this game. Fortunately, clever map designers have discovered an easy way to build a propulsion device that functions as a one-way elevator. You can accomplish this through stacking one-way doors that, once opened, can launch a player upward or downward.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a one-way shield door where you want the base of your elevator to be located.

    • 2

Ensure the door has its orange glow pointing in the direction you want players to travel. One-way shield doors have an orange glow on the side that can't be entered. So you want to place the door so that the orange glow faces the direction of movement. For example, an elevator for transporting a character upward has the orange glow facing up.

    • 3

Set additional one-way shield doors on top of the first. This will allow you to set the height for your elevator. Make sure each door has its orange flow pointing in the same direction.

    • 4

Place each door close enough together so that the gap between doors is smaller than the height of the player. If a player is taller than the space between the one-way shield doors, the elevator will not work correctly.

    • 5

Set terrain or wall casing around the elevator. This step is optional. Some map designers choose to encase the elevator for aesthetics.
