How Do I Get My Xbox 360 ION Drum Kit to Work on the PS3?

An Xbox 360 ION Drum Rocker core comes with support stands, drum pads and a drum module. A PlayStation ION Drum Rocker core comes with the same components. Each drum module is designed to be used specifically with either the Xbox or PlayStation game unit. Drum Rocker pads can be used with any drum module (or "drum brain") with 1/4-inch inputs. You can swap your Xbox 360 drum brain for a PlayStation drum brain to make your Xbox 360 Drum Rocker pads compatible with a PS3.

  Purchase a Drum Rocker Module for a PS3 from the IONAudio website. As of July 2011 the module costs $49.99, with discounts available for refurbished modules.

  Assemble the ION Drum Rocker drum set as outlined in the assembly manual included with the kit. However, replace the Xbox 360 module with the PS3 module purchased in Step 1. The drum module, or "drum brains" as it is sometimes called, functions as the central processing unit and sound source of the drum kit. It is what translates the hits on the drum pads into a programmed sound that is sent to the game unit.

  Connect the module's USB plug to an unused USB port on your PS3. Once it's connected, you can use the drum set with video games such as "Rock Band" on PS3.
