How to Connect Xbox 360 Wirelessly

Microsoft's Xbox 360 uses a triple-core Xenon processor and features an ATI Xenos graphics processor with 10 MB of eDRAM. You can position your Xbox 360 console horizontally or vertically, connect the power supply to the wall and the console to the TV or monitor with the composite AV cable. Connecting the Xbox to the Internet can be accomplished with an Ethernet cable, or wirelessly with built-in Wi-Fi functionality.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Get the wireless network identification name, called an SSID, and the password. This is often marked on a label on the side, or underneath of the wireless router. If it isn't, the SSID is the same as the one used to connect your laptop in your home. The person who set the network up will be able to tell you the password.

    • 2

Select the Xbox "Dashboard" settings on the Xbox 360 and choose "Wireless Networking." Then follow the prompts to enter the SSID and the password.

    • 3

Turn off the Xbox and the router if the Xbox won't connect to the Internet. Wait a minute and then turn them back on again. Turn the router on first and allow it to stabilize. Then turn on the Xbox. If you still can't connect, move the Xbox closer to the router.
