My Xbox 360 Slim Runs Hot

The Xbox 360 Slim may overheat if you've been playing it for several consecutive hours and the vents are blocked, which limits airflow, or if it's improperly stored. When your system overheats, it will not read discs until it cools down.       Press the "Power" button to turn off your Xbox 360 Slim if the console power button flashes red. This usually means the console is too hot. When the console gets too hot, it will not play games until it cools down.

      Remove objects from the ventilation openings on your console. Objects can limit airflow and cause your gaming system to overheat.
