How to Do Sweet Moves on NCAA Basketball 10 on the Xbox 360

"NCAA Basketball 10" is a simulation college basketball video game released on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2009. One of the features found in the game is the ability to pull off "sweet moves," such as crossover dribbles, while handing the basketball. This allows ball handlers to get around talented defenders, and either attempt an uncontested layup or dunk upon entering the lane or pass the ball to an open teammate.

Instructions

    • 1

Get the ball to a point guard or to the player on your team that has the highest ball handing skill rating. Attempting these moves with a poor ball handler results in turnovers and fouls.

    • 2

Press the left thumbstick in one direction, such as left, to begin the sequence. Hold the thumbstick down for just a moment, and the ball handler travels in that direction. This causes the defender to respond, which eventually causes him to be out of position.

    • 3

Flick the right thumbstick left to attempt a crossover move or similar juke move; flick the stick up to attempt a spin or "double cross" move. Either maneuver, if successful gets your ball handler around the defender. Press the right trigger turbo button to accelerate to the hoop, but only once you have an uninterrupted path to the hoop. Otherwise, you risk getting called for a charge.

    • 4

Move the right thumbstick right to perform a hesitation dribble, which causes slow defenders to overcompensate and go for either a steal or block. Then, use the turbo button and left thumbstick or the crossover move described in Step 3 to get behind the player guarding you.

    • 5

Move the right thumbstick down to either retreat or perform a "stepback" dribble. This catches unsuspecting defenders off-guard, creating just enough space between the two players for you to attempt a jump shot.
