How to Upload Stream ASX Files to an Xbox Console

All Xbox gaming system consoles since 2007 ship with Window Media Player 11 (WMP) built-in for streaming video content. ASX files are advanced stream redirectors that are the standard files for WMP video streaming. These streaming files allow you to watch video content from your Xbox gaming system console. The process of uploading stream ASX files to an Xbox console is fairly straightforward.

      Press the "Power" button on your Xbox gaming system console to turn it on.

      Plug the USB connector cable onto the USB port in the back of the Xbox system, then plug the other end of the cable into an available USB port on your computer.

      Double-click the WMP 11 icon on your computer to launch the application, then select "File," "Tools" then "Options" from the top menu. This will open a pop-up window.

      Click the "Library" tab, then click the "Configure Sharing..." option button. Check the "Share my media box" option, then click "OK." You will see the icon for your Xbox appear under "Sharing Settings." Click the icon, then click the "Allow" option.

      Select the "Media" option in the Guide Menu on your Xbox main screen on your television, then select the "Video" option. Select the "Computer" option on the screen , then select "Yes." The Xbox will search the network and automatically download all of the available ASX files for the corresponding video files located on your computer in order to stream through them to your television.
