How to Get Avatar Items From Red Dead Redemption

Avatar awards are achievements for Xbox 360 games that award clothes for your avatar instead of points for your Gamerscore. Not all games feature avatar awards. However, "Red Dead Redemption," a Western-themed open-world game from Rockstar, features seven avatar awards that players can unlock. These awards are for both male and female avatars and include dresses, hats and T-shirts. There are different criteria for each award and, when unlocked, you can add them to your avatar from the Xbox 360's main menu. When an avatar award is unlocked, a message is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Instructions

- 1
  Unlock the "Gentleman's Attire" and "Lady's Finery" by loading a save game or starting a new game. These awards were tied into an event near the game's launch and now that the event is over, they are awarded to everyone who plays the game.

  Open the chest in the bedroom of the second floor of John Marston's house, located at Beecher's Hope, to receive the Rockstar T-shirt. The house is only available in Act 3, and you begin Act 3 at this location.

  Open the chest in the ruined house at Riley's Charge to receive the "Red Dead Redemption" T-Shirt. Riley's Charge is located at the southern border of Cholla Springs, south of Armadillo.
- 4
  Shoot the hat off the head of any enemy, but without killing him. To accomplish this, aim your gun at the very top of the enemy's hat and shoot one bullet.
