How to Earn Gamerscore in the Xbox

Your Xbox gamerscore displays next to your gamertag for you, your friends and other players you interact with online to see. Your gamerscore is simply the sum of all the achievement points you have earned from all the Xbox and Xbox 360 games you have played. While your gamerscore won't provide you with any tangible or material benefits, earning a higher gamerscore does give you some bragging rights.

Instructions

  Sign in to your Xbox profile before playing a game every time you want to play. If you're not signed in to your personal profile, the gamerscore points you earn for that session are not attached to your gamertag.

  Review the list of achievements for the game you're currently playing to see which achievements you still need to complete and the corresponding gamerscore values for those achievements. Some games feature "secret" achievements that you cannot view until you complete the mystery task.

  Complete the required objectives for the achievements to earn gamerscore points. A small pop-up bubble displays at the bottom of your screen showing the achievement name and the amount of gamerscore points you received within a few seconds of completing the achievement.
