How to Delete Offline Gamertags

If more than one member of your family enjoys playing Xbox 360, you may have multiple gamertags stored on the Xbox's hard drive. Each of these gamertags consumes space on the hard drive with their associated information. When a gamertag is no longer used, delete it from the Xbox's hard drive to create more free space.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the Xbox 360 and go to the dashboard. If a game loads instead of the dashboard, press the "Guide" button in the middle of the controller and then press "Y" to access the dashboard.

    • 2

Scroll up to the "My Xbox" menu on the dashboard and then scroll right to "System Settings" and press the "A" button.

    • 3

Scroll down to "Memory" and press the "A" button, then press "A" again to view "All Devices."

    • 4

Scroll down to "Gamer Profiles" and press "A."

    • 5

Scroll to the gamertag you want to delete and press "A."

    • 6

Scroll down to "Delete" and press "A" to delete the gamertag, then select "Delete Profile Only."
