Defeat your opponent in the previous round. The first character to win two rounds wins the match, and your opponent must have been defeated in a previous round to perform an Astral Heat.
Fill your Heat Gauge, located in the bottom left corner of the screen, to 100 percent. The gauge fills from the left to the right each time you attack an opponent or get attacked. The gauge glows when it is 100 percent full.
Lower your opponents health, located in the top right corner of the screen, to below 35 percent health.
Verify that you have a "Break Burst" icon available. The icons are located in the upper left corner underneath your health bar. If an icon is available, it is red. If it is not available, it has a red X through it, meaning you have recently used it. After a few seconds, the icon is available to use again.
Press the button combination for your character's Astral Heat finishing move. For example, for the character Ragna, press down, diagonally down and left, left, diagonally down and left, down, diagonally down and right, right and the "B" button in one smooth motion. Ragna performs his Astral Heat attack and, if it connects with an opponent, that opponent is instantly killed.
