Instructions
Plant the appropriate foliage in your garden to attract different piñatas. There are a variety of species of piñatas, all of which are attracted by different foliage. Placing different types of foliage around your garden will entice a black and white version of a piñata. In this black and white state, they are only visiting your garden and will not stay to become residents.
Build houses for the piñatas. In order to get the piñatas to stay once you have enticed them to come visit your garden, they must have a place to reside. Purchase houses to build in your garden. You earn money on a daily basis by by adding foliage and accessories such as houses and fences as well as through upkeep.
Perform the necessary tasks in order to make the piñatas residents in your garden. Each species of piñata will have a different type of task to become a resident. Once you have completed the task, the black and white piñata will become vibrantly colored and stay in your garden. You will be able to name and customize them once this has occurred.
Entice two of the same species to reside in your garden. Then you can participate in a romance mini-game, which when completed successfully will result in the pair producing a piñata egg. The egg will eventually hatch and there will be a baby piñata of the same species.
Create new varieties of piñatas by feeding specific piñatas specific items. Feed a Newtgat a chili to change it into a Salamango. Change a Horstachio into a Zumbug by feeding it a daisy and a blackberry. Change the Lickatoad into a Lackatoad by feeding it a nightshade berry and tapping it with the shovel. Feeding a Sparrowmint a buttercup will change it into a Candary. A Quackberry changes into a Juicygoose by feeding it a gooseberry.
Breed piñatas to get a new species. Romance two Syrupents to get them to produce an egg. Watch the egg, and before it hatches, it will begin to hop. On its third hop, bop it with the shovel to get it to hatch. The species resulting will be a Twingersnap. To get the Fourheads species, romance two Twingersnaps and follow the same process with their egg.
Keep the piñata residents happy. There are species that do not get along, so if you introduce two warring piñatas, ensure that they are separated by fences or other structures that you can purchase. Some piñatas will get sick. In these instances, follow the mini-game in order to cure them to ensure that they do not break, which is the piñata equivalent of death.
Be vigilant against Professor Pester or any sour pinatas and Ruffians that enter your garden. These two factions enter your garden with the sole intent to break stuff, cause sickness and mischief. Paying Ruffians will make them go away temporarily. To make them go away on a more permanent basis, save up and purchase the Captain's Cutlass, a sword that will scare them away. You can also use this sword to attack Professor Pester when he comes into your garden. Sour pinatas will drop sour candy that your other piñatas will eat and become sick. You can either keep them at bay by purchasing parts of a sour totem pole, or you can perform a series of specific tasks that will turn these sour piñatas into functional members of your garden. Follow the directions that are given to you to turn each sour species into a non-sour member of your garden.
