How to Get a Lot of Stimpacks in Fallout III

As your character explores the Capital Wastelands of "Fallout 3," he will inevitibly become injured after battling with foes or becoming the victim of a booby trap. When your character takes on damage, the best way to heal him is to use a stimpak. Stimpaks are portable first-aid items that immediately restore health points or repair wounded limbs. Stimpaks are one of the most important items for your character to carry in his inventory because they prevent an early end to your game due to lack of health points.

Instructions

  Search for stimpaks in medical containers throughout the Capital Wasteland. Medical containers look like white first-aid boxes and are usually found hanging on the wall. Medical containers are common in medical buildings, laboratories, kitchens and bathrooms throughout the Capital Wasteland. Stimpaks can also be found in other item containers such as metal boxes, safes and lockers, but they are most commonly found in medical containers.

  Purchase stimpaks from trader caravans and shops in settlements. The price you pay for stimpaks will rely on the person you buy it from and your level in the Barter skill category.

  Steal stimpaks from other characters in the Capital Wasteland. Crouch behind the character to bring up the "Pickpocket" command and then move any stimpaks over from the other character's inventory to your own. Stealing will make you lose karma and if you are caught you will be attacked by anyone who was watching. Only pick a pocket when the display indicates that you are hidden.

  Take stimpaks off of desks, shelves, tables and other surfaces. Stimpaks lying out in the open resemble syringe needles. Press the action button to take stimpaks from a surface.

  Loot stimpaks from enemies you defeat in battle. Stand next to their corpse and press the action button to bring up their inventory. Move any stimpaks over to your inventory.

  Trade with Protector Henry Casdin at Fort Independence to obtain a large quantity of stimpaks at once. Obtain energy weapons, power armor, scrap metal or other items related to technology out in the Capital Wasteland and bring them to Protector Henry Casdin to trade. Rare items, such as the Alien Blaster, are worth more stimpaks than common items are.
