How to Mod Your Avatar Without Downloads

You don't have to spend hundreds of Microsoft Points downloading clothing and props over Xbox Live to create a unique, personalized avatar character. The Avatar Editor contains a large collection of clothing styles that can be mixed and matched to make fashionable Avatar characters. There is no need to download extras to assemble an avatar that represents you on the Xbox 360. Although the avatar wardrobe is greatly expanded with downloads from the Avatar Marketplace, players can make do with the preloaded avatar items.

  Open the Avatar Editor to start changing your avatar's style and appearance. Select the "Customize Avatar" option from the "My Xbox" menu to open the Editor.

  Choose the "My Style" to browse through the clothing options in the Avatar Editor. Enter each of the menus such as Gloves, Shoes and Tops to fully dress the avatar according to your style. Press the "A" button over each article to equip it to your avatar.

  Go back to the main menu of the Avatar Editor and enter the "My Features" menu to customize your avatar's personal appearance. Select the character's height, nose, skin color, hairstyle, mouth and more from this menu.

  Keep your custom avatar by using the "Save and Exit" button on the Avatar Editor main menu. After saving your avatar, it returns you to the "My Xbox" menu.
