How to Fix the NAT Type Error 80710102

The Network Address Translation on your PlayStation 3 is used to connect to the PlayStation Network. This in turn lets you play multiplayer games and download updates to the system. Error 80710102 is a DNS error that kicks you off of the PlayStation Network. You can fix this by setting the DNS to manual. Doint so lets you optimize the DNS settings on your PS3. You don't have to be a Sony tech to get your PS3 working again. Do it yourself in a few steps.

      Click the "Settings" icon on the main screen, then click "Network Settings."

      Click the "Internet Connection Settings" button, then click the "Yes" icon. Click the "Custom" button.

      Click on the method of Internet connection you use. The choices are "Wired" or "Wireless."

      Use the "Auto-Detect" for Ethernet and the "Security Type" if you are using Wireless. Enter your wireless password if you are using a wireless router to connect.

      Click the "Automatic" option for the "IP Address Settings," then click the "Do Not Set (DHCP host name)" from the menu.

      Click the "Manual" option and enter "208.67.222.222" for "Primary DNS" and "208.67.220.220" for "Secondary DNS."

      Click the "Automatic" option for "MTU" and "Do Not Use" for "Proxy Server."

      Click the "Enable" option for UPnP, then press the "X" button to save your settings. Press the "X" button again to test your connection. The PS3 will connect without the error.
