The Rings
After flying across the level you will enter a forerunner structure where you will fight down a long hallway divided by three rooms creating three separate sections. This hallway features seven rings, one for each halo. The fourth ring of halo is the ring where "Halo: Combat Evolved" took place, and is the ring which is being repaired at the arc. The first section of the hallway has rings one and two. The second section has rings three, four and five. The third section has rings six and seven. The count for the rings starts at the beginning of the hallway.
The IWHBYD Skull
The skull unlocked by jumping through the rings while on the arc is called the IWHBYD skull. Activating this skull causes different in-game dialogue to appear. None of the main dialogue in the game will change, but dialogue spoken by Marines and enemies will change sometimes. For example, when the skull is activated sometimes if you kill a Brute, his partner will yell, "He was my lover," before going berserk.
Getting the Skull
It's best to kill most of the enemies in the hallway before attempting this feat and it's recommended to do this on normal difficulty. This is late in the game and the enemies are rather advanced. Do not proceed past the hallway unless you want to fight the Prophet of Truth and then clear the hallway a second time. Jump through the rings in the following order: ring four, six, five, four, five, three, and then four a third and final time. Start again at ring four if you make a mistake.
How You Know It Worked
If done correctly, all of the rings in the hallway will begin to blink in sequence (this won't happen if playing in split-screen). The skull will appear on the platform where you encounter the Prophet of Truth. If you have not yet encountered him, you will have to sit through the cut-scene before you can collect the skull.
