How to Delete a Windows ID Gamertag

When you signed up for Xbox Live, and created a profile with a Gamertag on your Xbox 360, you had to associate that Gamertag with a Windows Live ID. However, Xbox Live has been around for a long time, and you may no longer want your Gamertag, or you may wish to update it to something else. Fortunately you can delete the profile with your Windows Live Gamertag from your Xbox 360, thereby freeing up the space being used by that profile.

Instructions

      Turn on your Xbox 360.

      Scroll to the "My Xbox" menu.

      Navigate to the "System Settings" panel, then press "A" on your controller to select it.

      Scroll to "Memory," and press "A" to select it.

      Select the storage device on which the Gamertag profile is located, then press "A."

      Press "A" on the "Gamer Profiles" option.

      Scroll to the Gamertag profile you want to delete, and then press "A' to select it.

      Select the "Delete" option, and press "A."

      Scroll to "Delete Profile Only," then press "A."
