In "Halo: Reach," communicating quickly and efficiently with your teammates can make the difference between victory and defeat. Gamertags can be long and unwieldy to the tongue and communicating enemy locations in relation to your teammates can be difficult. To allow you to quickly identify and communicate with your teammates, every player can modify his gamertag to display a four character call-sign. This call-sign can be numbers, letters or both.

Launch "Halo: Reach" on your Xbox 360.

Press the "Start" button on the game controller at the main menu.

Highlight the "Player" submenu, then press "A."

Navigate to the "Service Tag" menu option, then press "A."

Select up to four characters using the onscreen keyboard, then press "Start." This will add the chosen service tag to your gamertag when in "Halo: Reach."
