How to Double Charge With Swords on Halo

The energy sword in "Halo 3" is a much more versatile weapon than it was in "Halo 2." The previous version allowed you to lunge toward an enemy for a quick attack but, if you missed, it also left you wide open for an attack. You can still charge forward in "Halo 3," but you now have the added security of being able to immediately swing the sword a second time in case you miss with the first attack.

Instructions

  Get a sword from one of your enemies. You will typically see at least one or two enemies with a power sword in most levels. Attack using one of your guns from a distance -- these enemies specialize in close combat, so attack from a distance.

  Attack an enemy with your sword by pressing the "B" button -- this is normally the melee button but, if you have the sword equipped, allows you to charge forward and attack quickly.

  Press "R2" as soon as the first swing of the sword is finished. You will swing the sword again in quick succession after closing the gap between yourself and the enemy if you time the strike correctly.
