How to Fix a Scratched 360 Game With a Banana Peel

Xbox 360 games, like all optical media, run the risk of scratched games. Normal use, inserting the disc in cases, and moving the console while the discs spin can cause scratches. In such cases,you can use a banana peel and household cleaner to solve the problem. In most cases, the disc will look good as new, restoring normal operation.

Things You'll Need

Knife
Banana
Ammonia-free glass cleaner
Scratch-free microfiber cloth

Instructions

  Turn the game disc shiny-side up. Clean any fingerprints and other dirt from the disc using glass cleaner and a cloth. Wipe from the center of the disc toward the edges to avoid rubbing contaminants along the same spiral pattern that the disc data is printed in.

  Cut off one end of a banana with a knife, exposing the banana inside the peel. Leave some peel on the banana to grip.

  Rub the banana firmly around the shiny surface of the disc in short circular motions for about two minutes. Peel the banana the rest of the way.

  Wipe the disc in a circular motion with the outside of the banana peel, polishing the disc with the natural oils and waxes on the fruit.

  Clean the excess material from the disc surface with another application of glass cleaner. Wipe until the disc is clean and shiny.
