How to Grab Mine for Moria on Fallout 3

As you make your travels through the Capital Wastelands of "Fallout 3" you will encounter several survivors who need your help accomplishing different quests. Moira Brown is a young woman who owns Craterside Supply in Megaton. She is writing a Wasteland Survival Guide and needs your help conducting research on various topics. One of the tasks that Moira asks of you is to bring her a frag mine so that she has the chance to study it. However, Moira will only accept your frag mine if you disarmed it yourself, not if you bought it from a merchant, or found it in a foe's inventory.

Instructions

- 1
  Travel to Minefield, which is located Northeast of Megaton and directly East of Paradise Springs. If you set "The Wasteland Survival Guide" as your active mission, the compass will point you in the direction of Minefield.

  Approach the town from the North instead of up through the South to avoid a sniper.

  Press the left control stick to make your character crouch. This will allow him to move slowly to avoid setting off mines.

  Walk carefully up to any of the several frag mines lying on the ground while crouched. Line up the cross hairs on your screen so that they are pointing directly at the mine.

  Press the "A" button when the action command "Disarm Frag Mine" appears on the screen below the cross hairs. Press the "A" button again when it has been disarmed to put the frag mine into your inventory.

  Open your Pip-Boy and select the Map Menu. Move the cursor over Megaton and select "Fast Travel." You need to walk away from Minefield or kill the sniper before you can use the fast travel option.

  Talk to Moira at Craterside Supply to complete the mission.
