Instructions
Unplug the wired Xbox 360 game controller from the console's controller port. Place the controller on a table face up. Remove the screws from the front edges of the controller, using a Phillips jeweler's screwdriver.
Push the joystick and buttons down as you pull the cover plate off the controller. Place the cover plate aside.
Cut one 10-inch length and two 6-inch lengths of electric wire from the wire spool, using a wire cutter or scissors. Strip a 1/2 inch of insulation from both ends of all the wires, using a wire stripper.
Heat up a soldering iron for six minutes. Solder an end of the 10-inch wire to the bottommost left contact on the circuit board that is inside the controller. Let the solder cool for one minute.
Run the wire beneath the circuit board and out the right side. Solder the end of the wire to the bottommost right contact on the circuit board. Let the solder cool for one minute.
Place the microswitch on its side on the table, with the two contacts attached at the bottom facing you.
Solder an end of one if the two remaining wires to the contact on the microswitch that is to your left. Solder an end of the other wire to the contact to the right of the one just soldered. Let the solder cool for one minute. Push the ends of the two wires up through the lower right screw hole of the controller.
Solder the end of the wire attached to the rightmost contact on the switch to the middle contact of the three contacts to the right of the joystick that is on the right side. Let the solder cool for one minute.
Solder the end of the wire attached to the leftmost contact on the switch to the contact next to the one that was soldered earlier to the bottom right edge. Let the solder cool for one minute. Unplug the soldering iron.
Place the cover plate back on the controller. Push the joystick and buttons through the holes in the plate. Reattach the screws. Turn the controller over. Tape the microswitch to the bottom of the controller with strips of duct tape.
Insert the controller's plug into the console's controller port. Insert a game that lets you shoot a weapon, for example, a rifle or gun, into the console.
Select "New Game" when the game screen comes up on the screen. Press in and hold the microswitch. Press the "Fire" button that the game has designated for shooting to fire a rapid-fire barrage of bullets. Release the microswitch when you want the fire button to only fire a single bullet every time the fire button is depressed.
