How to Mod Your Controller Without Taking it Apart

Game controllers are essential to playing the games on their respective consoles. But, similar to a pair of sunglasses or shoes, gaming controllers can often take on more aesthetic meanings. Console owners can now outfit their controllers with various visual elements to modify and increase the aesthetic value of the devices. Many of these mods are easy to apply and do not require you to take apart the gaming controller.

  Place stickers or decals on the device. Adhesive stickers can easily be applied to any controller, and can just as easily be removed. Topics of stickers can range from everything from unique designs to sports teams logos.

  Place a snap-on outer case to the controller. These cases snap over the exterior of the current case and often have grips built into the back for increased stability.

  Purchase a skin for the d-pad or other buttons on your controller. Skins are often created for individual buttons and, similar to the snap-on cases, fit neatly without ever having to take the controller apart.
