How to Modify Your Gamertag with a USB

In 2010, Microsoft added the ability for Xbox 360 consoles to use any USB drive as a system storage device. This lets you expand the console's memory using USB drives you already own; the previous option was to purchase and use Microsoft's expensive hard-drive add-on (included in some Xbox 360 bundles). The USB drive can be used to store game saves, profile information and system settings. A gamertag (the Xbox Live user name and profile) can be stored on a USB drive for easy transport between Xbox consoles. Regardless of where you store your gamertag data, modifying the actual gamertag is simple.

      Select "Change gamertag."

    • 5
