Hardcover Art Book
The Collector's Edition of "Mass Effect 2" is packaged in a steel box and is considerably larger than the standard version of the game. This is due to the 48-page hardcover art book that is included. The art book is approximately 7 inches wide and is adorned with the Mass Effect Cerberus Network logo. Five unique chapters include character, weapon, vehicle and environmental concept drawings. Each drawing is accompanied by notes from the game's artistic director.
"Mass Effect: Redemption" Graphic Novel
The Mass Effect games are critically acclaimed for providing players with an engrossing science fiction story, and the Redemption series of graphic novels helps to further explain the plot. Written by Mac Walters, the lead writer for "Mass Effect 2," the 32-page Redemption comic explains the events that take place between the first and second games in the series. Redemption is drawn by Omar Francia, an artist that has previously worked on "Star Wars: Legacy."
"Making Of" Bonus DVD
The "Making Of" bonus disc included in the Collector's Edition of "Mass Effect 2" provides exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the game and insight from the game's developers. The DVD is divided into three distinct chapters and runs for a total of 25 minutes. "Light Years Ahead" focuses on the technological differences between "Mass Effect" and "Mass Effect 2." The other two chapters, "A Darker Universe" and "The Saga Continues," discuss the progression of the characters and settings that exist within the Mass Effect universe.
