How to Break the Wire Net on Sonic the Hedghog

When you complete Act 5 of "Sonic the Hedgehog," you are told that Eggman has boarded a train and that you need to go after him. However, when you get to the train station, it is closed down. There is a ventilation system that you can use to enter the station, but it is covered by a wire net or grate. Although it seems like there is no way to break through it, completing Act 5 unlocks an item at the shop that will help.

Instructions

  Go to the shop near the city's center. The shop is not an actual storefront but a large, yellow television monitor -- it is hovering near the gate to Castle Town. Interact with the shop to see its inventory.

  Buy the Bounce Bracelet from the shop for 2,000 rings. If you do not have enough, do some more side quests until you have them. You need the Bounce Bracelet to proceed to the next chapter in the game.

  Go back to the train station. Walk to the vertical pillar to the left of the train station and jump on top of it. Use the new attack from your Bounce Bracelet -- jump and press the attack button -- to smash through the top of the pillar and get into the train station.
