How to Adjust the Number of Lands in Duels of Planeswalkers Magic: the Gathering

The console and PC game "Magic: The Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers" is an adaptation of the collectible card game Magic the Gathering where you battle other players with a deck of cards. During battles every creature you summon and every spell you cast requires a specific amount of mana. This mana is produced by lands. As you unlock new cards to add to your deck, you will need more lands to accommodate the growing size of your deck. Fortunately, the computer will automatically add or remove lands to your deck. You cannot add lands individually and you cannot remove starter cards. The only way to adjust your land count is adjusting how many unlocked cards are in your deck.

Instructions

    • 1

Load "Duels of the Planeswalkers" to the main menu. Notice that in the bottom right of the screen there is a deck name for the deck you currently have loaded. Next to the deck name is an image of what colors make up that deck.

Click on the deck, this will open the deck manager window. Here you can scroll through which deck you'd like to edit. Once you've selected the deck you'd like to edit, choose "Edit deck" in the bottom right corner.

Drag unlocked cards from the deck to the sideboard to take them out of your deck. Once you've adjusted what card you want in your deck, make sure to save. The game automatically adjusts the number of basic lands in your deck to accommodate its final card count.
