How to Get Rid of Board Bonuses in Star Ocean

"Star Ocean: The Last Hope" is a Japanese role-playing game for the Xbox 360 (Ref 1). The game has a bonus board that fills up with different colored crystals corresponding to different bonuses for every battle. Red is for hit points, blue is for experience, yellow is fol (in-game money) and green is for speed points (Ref 2). You get more bonuses with every battle, but you may not like the board bonuses you earn. If you want more blue bonuses but have a large number of red bonuses, for example, you have to get rid of old board bonuses and start over (Ref 2).

     Enter a battle with an enemy and take critical hits. A critical hit from an enemy empties certain slots in the bonus board. Any crystal bonus not touching another bonus of the same color will shatter. If the crystals are touching crystals of the same color on the bonus board only half of them will break. (Ref 2)

     Save your game from the in-game menu.

     Turn off your Xbox 360 and turn it back on. Reload your "Star Ocean: The Last Hope" game and open your last save. The bonus board will be empty when you restart your game.
