How to Disarm Someone in Red Dead Redemption

Whenever you draw your weapon in "Red Dead Redemption," you have to make a decision whether to take your opponent's life or just his gun. Disarming your opponent in "Red Dead Redemption" is a nonlethal method of defending yourself against foes that you do not wish to kill. When you disarm a foe, he is unable to attack, which makes it easier to hogtie him with your rope. Disarming comes in handy when taking on bounty hunting missions as you receive more money for bringing back criminals alive.

  Hold down the "Left Trigger" button to draw your weapon. If you want to change your weapon, hold down the "Left Bumper" button to bring up your weapon wheel and the left analog stick to select the weapon of choice.

  Aim for the opponent's weapon or the hand holding the weapon using the left analog stick. To aim, line up the cross hair so that the hand or gun is in the center.

  Press the "Right Trigger" button to fire your weapon. If your shot was aimed properly, you will disarm your opponent.

  Press the right analog stick while your weapon is drawn to enter into Dead Eye mode. In Dead Eye mode, the action is slowed down, allowing you to aim with precision.
