How to Go Upstairs on The Sims 3 for Xbox 360

"The Sims 3" for Xbox 360 is a faithful home console port of the computer game of the same name. Instead of using a mouse and keyboard to control their Sims, players use an on-screen cursor controlled by the Xbox 360 controller. However, the cursor touches only the items inside the world of the game itself, not the menus or other game controls. To use game controls, such as switching between levels in your Sim's house, you must use different button combinations on your Xbox 360 controller.

  Hold down the "Left Trigger" button

  Press "Up" on the directional pad to go up one level. This will focus the camera on that particular level and allow you to interact with items and Sims on that level only.

  Press "Up" again with the "Left Trigger" held down to go up any additional levels.

  Press "Down" with the "Left Trigger" held to go back downstairs.

  Click on a portion of the floor upstairs using the left thumb stick and pressing the "A" button. Select "Go Here" and press the "A" button again. This will direct your Sim to walk upstairs.
