How to Get the SP Bonus Board in Star Ocean: The Last Hope

"Star Ocean: The Last Hope" is the fourth installment in the Star Ocean series of video games developed by Tri-Ace. "The Last Hope" was released on the Xbox 360 in North America on February 24, 2009. An updated version called "Star Ocean: The Last Hope International" was released on the PS3 on February 9, 2010. The game uses a Bonus Board during battles that is crucial for building up character strengths and skills. By triggering bonuses that increase skill points, characters can be strengthened quicker.

Instructions

  Go to the Urd Falls Cave area on the planet of Aeos. This is the second place the player visits in the game.

  Save the game at the downed ship save point just outside the entrance to the Urd Falls Cave. Then, reset the game and load the save file. This will clear any tiles you have active on the SP Bonus Board.

  Move close to the two bug-like enemies that are moving around on screen near the entrance to the cave. Move around to get the two enemies close to each other and allow them to initiate battle. This will happen when they run into the character.

  Fight the enemy and do not perform any actions that will result in a bonus condition being fulfilled. This includes defeating the enemies with one hit, using Special Arts attacks, or beating the last enemy with a critical attack. Just fight using normal attacks. When the second enemy attacks, a green tile will appear on the Bonus Board indicating an enemy ambush. An ambush is what is needed to fill the Bonus Board.

  Enter the Urd Falls Cave after the fight. Then, turn around and exit the cave.

  Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 a total of 13 more times. This will completely fill the Bonus Board. The bug-like enemies will reappear every time you enter and exit the cave.

  Wander the Urd Falls Cave and fight every enemy encountered. Since the Bonus Board is full, you will be given the maximum amount of SP for each encounter. This number varies with each enemy.
