Intel Items 1-5
The first piece of Intel is located right under the tower, across from the Pitt in the "S.S.D.D." mission. That's it for the first mission. The second intel item, in the "Team Player" mission, is next to the pillar in the school building's first rooms. The third is on top of a yellow cab upon exiting the school. "Cliffhanger," the third mission, has three of its own intel items. The fourth piece of intel (in total) is up the tower off the first road, on top of the ladder. You will encounter the fifth piece of intel in the ditch when meeting up with Soap, but in the opposite direction (right instead of left); access it by breaking the window in front of it.
Intel Items 6-10
Intel No. 6 is the last one on "Cliffhanger," recovered during the escape scene. Drive on over in your snowmobile to the crooked fence after the house appears on the left-hand trail. The seventh intel is apart of the "Takedown" mission and is found right across from the house with the motorcycle out front. While still chasing down the suspect, head over to the red brick house in the middle of the favela, climb the ladder next to it and discover the eighth piece. The ninth is in the even bigger red brick building, on the first floor, next to the two twin beds. The last piece in "Takedown" is right next to a burning car that will come up in a close alley, in the building on the right (also next to two beds).
Intel Items 11-15
"Wolverines" starts out with the 11th piece of intel, which is on the counter of the first gas station you'll see. When you're ordered to head to Burger Town, run over to the dumpster to the left (because you'll be under heavy fire) and grab intel No. 12. The 13th piece is next to the front door of Taco to Go and can be picked up on the way back to the burger joint. Grab No. 14 when passing the bank; it's in a cubicle. "The Hornets Nest" has its first piece (No. 15) after the first big firefight with terrorists on top of roofs in the level. It's right after the red garage on the right-hand side.
Intel Items 16-20
Intel No. 16 is the second one in "The Hornets Next," accessed after a firefight next to a basketball hoop. It's below a building opposite of you, next to a tire on the floor. Pelayo's Ice Cream, a store that will come up on your right, has the 17th on its third floor. When running towards Nikolai and his helicopter, look out for a soccer field. Right behind one of the field's goals is the 18th laptop. "Exodus" has three intel items, starting with No. 19, inside the "Garden Villas Apartments" and on the desk. No. 20 is in the security booth separating the two areas of the neighborhood, which will come up in between stop signs and an archway.
Intel Items 21-25
The second house on your right after crossing the security booth will contain No. 21. Go upstairs and take it from the couch in the hallway. Twenty-two, from the mission "The Only Easy Day ... Was Yesterday", is up the first two flights of stairs next to the bookshelf on the left. Upon gathering No. 22, you'll get the achievement/trophy "The Road Less Traveled." The 23rd is on the shelves in the warehouse right after you plant the C4 on some dead enemies. Watch out -- a helicopter will start mowing you and your teammates down. As soon as you hide for cover from that flying behemoth, check out the 24th piece of intel, under the stairs behind you. "The Gulag" has an intelligence laptop (No. 25) at the end of the room at the top of the stairs you'll encounter just before hitting the prison. Two enemies will be on the stairs shooting at you.
Intel Items 26-30
Around the opposite end of some circular television monitors in the prison is the next intel laptop. The 27th appears right after soap tells you to grab a riot shield; it's in the prison cell to the right. After you find Prisoner 627 and the cut scene with him ends, look behind you on the desk to grab the last item of intel in "The Gulag." The mission "Of Their Own Accord" starts out with intel item No. 29, a laptop right next to the elevator and two dead soldiers inside of the Government Building. The second and last piece from that mission (No. 30) is next to the balcony after you plant some more C4.
Intel Items 31-35
No. 31 is in "Contingency," underneath an expanded parachute next to a raised pipe you'll come over after starting the mission. A warehouse will then come up, marked with "33," containing the 32nd laptop on one of its workbenches inside. The building's closest wall to the helicopter pad will have No. 33. The 34th intel item is on the black sofa outside of the Oval Office (in the "Whiskey Hotel" mission). A hole in the wall, right next to a flight of stairs that you will encounter, has item No. 35 inside it.
Intel Items 36-40
Find No. 36 by traveling down the path to the shore and recovering the intel on the other side of the boat house (in mission "Loose Ends"). No. 37 is on the highest floor of the main building, the room with the blowup doll in it. Intel item No. 38 is in the basement of the main building, in a closet full of weapons and ammunition. "The Enemy of My Enemy" has two intels: the 39th inside the plane next to the one you start in, and the 40th inside a cylindrical airplane halfway through an enemy-infested battlefield.
Intel Items 41-45
"Just Like Old Times" has four intels. The 41st is found to the tunnel on the right side of an enemy soldier crossing your path at the beginning of the mission. Upon proceeding with the mission, there will be a red light at the end of a cave right next to the 42nd intel item. A small tunnel after a fight with riot-shield soldiers will take you to intel No. 43. This tunnel, the one to the right, doesn't lead anywhere. The 44th intel location has the laptop on a table in the room where you are forced to hack open a door. It's the last cave in "Just Like Old Times." The last piece of intel in Modern Warfare 2 is found in "Endgame," on top of a box next to the raft you board.
