Instructions
Move your fighter by using the left stick on the controller. Quickly flicking the stick will result in a short weave that is useful in slipping incoming punches.
Press the face buttons on the right side of the controller to throw strikes. The left and upper buttons will throw punches while the right and lower buttons will throw kicks.
Modify your strikes by using the left shoulder button and the left trigger. The shoulder button will result in more powerful head strikes when used in conjunction with the face buttons, whereas the left trigger will cause the face buttons to activate leg kicks and body punches.
Defend yourself with the right shoulder button, which blocks your face, and the right trigger that protects your body. This helps reduce damage from incoming blows.
Grapple using the right stick on the controller. Holding the left trigger while flicking the stick towards your opponent will result in a takedown attempt while flicking the stick without the trigger results in a body lock or Thai clinch. Move the right stick in a smooth, circular motion to improve your position in the clinch or on the ground. Quarter-turns result in minor grapple transitions while full turns will cause a full position transition. Holding the left shoulder button while rotating the stick in a standing clinch can result in a body lock takedown or hip throw, depending on your fighter.
Push the left stick into the controller like a button to go for a submission attempt when your fighter is in the appropriate position to do so, which varies per fighter. Once the submission is applied, circle the right stick around repeatedly to tighten the submission. Watch your stamina bar since you'll lose the submission automatically if your stamina bar runs out. Defend submissions by spinning the stick in similar fashion.
Press one of the directional buttons on the left of the controller to taunt your opponent. Touch gloves with an opponent at the beginning of a fight by walking up to him and pushing the right directional button. Be careful doing this since unscrupulous opponents may attack you when you leave yourself open during the glove touch.
Inflict more damage to your opponent than your opponent does to you to either knockout your opponent, submit him or win via judge's decision.
