How to Play Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks on Xbox 360

The action takes place in three dimensions in "Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks." This 2005 title let you play as either Liu Kang or Kung Lau, as you complete a quest that ties into the backstory of the first three "Mortal Kombat" games. Although this game was originally released for the Microsoft Xbox, you can play it on the company's Xbox 360 console as well. As with most fighting games, the controls are complicated and can take some time to master.

Instructions

- 1
  Use the directional pad to control the mini-map and to input "fatalities."

  Move your character with the left thumbstick. Use the right thumbstick to control the camera. Click the right thumbstick to change the camera modes.

  Jump with the "A" button. Tap it twice to perform a double jump. You can also evade enemies if you press "A" while holding the left trigger.

  Perform a power attack and a fatality with the "B" button. Execute a quick attack and a brutality with the "X" button. Start a launch attack and a mutality with the "Y" button.

  Initiate a fatality attack with the "LB" button. Use the "RB" button to grapple with or throw an enemy or to pick up and throw weapons. The "RB" button will also impale an enemy if you hold the right weapon.

  Block with the left trigger. Press this button to also lock on to the closest foe.

  Hold the right trigger while pressing "B," "Y" or "X" for a special attack.

  Press "Start" to access the stats menu. Press "Back" to pause and unpause the game.
