How to Use TVersity on an XBox 360

Although streaming media files between a computer and an Xbox 360 video gaming console can be achieved through Microsoft's Windows Media Center utility, the program is only capable of playing a small range of media file types. The TVersity Media Server software solves this problem by transcoding files on your computer into a compatible format before streaming to your console, allowing you play almost any media file type on the Xbox 360.

Instructions

      Press the "Start" button in your computer taskbar and open the Internet browser. Download the TVersity software from the official TVersity website.

      Double-click the installation file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the TVersity software. Once complete, check the "Start the TVersity sharing service now" and "Start the TVersity user interface now" boxes and press the "Finish" button.

      Click the "+" icon located in the top-left hand corner of the TVersity user interface. When prompted, press the "Browse" button and select the files or folders you want to stream to your console. Click "Submit" to add the selected files or folders to the TVersity library.

      Turn on your Xbox 360 console and make sure it is connected to your home network.

      Navigate to the "Video Library" tile under the "My Xbox" heading. Select "TVersity" from the list and highlight the file you wish to play. Press the "A" button to begin streaming the file.
