How to Change a Pinata's Color

Discovering variant Pinata colors in "Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise" is one of the many exciting secrets hidden on Pinata Island. Each Pinata species has the ability to permanently take on an unusual set of colors after it has eaten something to trigger the transformation. Not only do inquisitive gardeners earn a special Pinata, but they are also rewarded with valuable experience points used to level up their gardening skill. Finding these oddly colored variant Pinatas in "Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise" takes more experimentation than anything else.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a Pinata in your garden to feed items in an attempt to trigger one of the three variant effects. Note than Pinatas naturally prefer some foods over others, and forcing a Pinata to eat foods it hates repeatedly may drastically lower its happiness. Keep some Happiness Candy nearby to keep the Pinata from becoming sad if you accidentally feed it too many foods it dislikes.

    • 2

Feed the Pinata a selection of seeds, fruit, vegetables, flowers, produce or items that have been tinkered with by Bart. Bart is found on the menu along with the helpful cast on the village menu, and aids by tinkering items into more useful things. Once such instance is tinkering honey to change it into a bottle of medicine.

    • 3

Watch the reaction of the Pinata after it ingests the item. If the item fed to the Pinata triggers the variant reaction, the Pinata's colors will transform moments after consuming its food. A variant Pinata is visibly different from others of its species. For example a variant Walrusk may be green, purple or pink as opposed to its normal blue hues.
