How to Get Partners in GTA 4

A new feature in "Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 4," absent from previous games is the ability to work with partners. These partners, referred to in-game as "friends," will accompany you on select missions and assist you in completing your tasks. The missions in which they help you are pre-determined, but you have the option to call them at any time to participate in a number of activities including eating, drinking, bowling, darts and going to shows. They will also call you on occasion to do the same. The strength of these friendships is monitored on the statistics screen.

Instructions

- 1
  Complete the mission "Bleed Out" to obtain Roman as a partner. Perform friend activities with Roman by calling him or answering his calls. He enjoys bowling, eating, drinking, darts, playing pool and going to shows and clubs. When Roman likes you enough, you will be able to call for a cab from his taxi service free of charge.

  Complete the mission "Shadow" to partner up with Little Jacob. Build your friendship with him by calling him or answering his calls. He enjoys darts, eating, drinking, pool and going to shows and clubs. When Little Jacob likes you, he will sell you weapons at a discount.

  Complete the mission "No. 1" and Brucie will become your partner. Call him or answer his calls to raise your friendship level with him. The activities he likes are boating, drinking, eating, going on helicopter tours and attending shows and going to clubs. Once he likes you enough, you can call him to give you a ride in his helicopter to any point in the city.

  Complete the mission "The Holland Play" to obtain Dwayne as a partner. Choose to defeat Playboy X in this mission, as opposed to Dwayne. If you choose to defeat Dwayne, he will not be available for the rest of the game. Raise your friendship with Dwayne by answering his calls or calling him to perform friend activities. He likes bowling, drinking, eating and going to shows and clubs. When he likes you enough, he will send a car full of partners to assist you in defeating enemies.

  Complete the mission "Three Leaf Clover" to obtain Packie as a friend. Perform friend activities with him by answering his calls or calling him. He enjoys bowling, darts, drinking, pool and going to shows and clubs. Once he likes you enough, you can call him to prepare bombs for you to use in your missions.
