Things You'll Need
Instructions
Unplug all cables and accessories from the console.
Pull the front faceplate off the system with a firm grip (it snaps off). Pry open the plastic tabs on the outer case with your thumb and forefinger, then lift the plastic case off the console.
Unscrew the Torx screws on top of the metal interior case, then open the metal cover.
Lift the DVD drive out of the console and unplug the red and black SATA cable from its rear. Disconnect the black and white power cable from the rear of the DVD drive, then connect your SATA cable from the DVD drive to your computer.
Turn on your computer and download JungleFlasher (see Resources). Run the program and select the Xbox 360 Hitachi 59 DVD drive from the main menu's drop-down bar.
Click "Flash .BIN Firmware," then click "OK" to confirm your selection. The program will begin modifying your Hitachi 59 DVD drive's firmware.
Wait for the flash process to finish, then close the program and turn off your computer. Unplug the SATA cable from your computer to the Hitachi 59 DVD drive, then reconnect the SATA cable and power cable from the Xbox 360 to the DVD drive.
Put the DVD drive back inside the Xbox 360 case, then close the metal cover and screw the Torx screws back in.
Return the plastic outer case to its original position and snap the front faceplate back on the console. Reconnect any power cords and accessories before turning the Xbox 360 on again.
