How to Get ODST Armor for Your Avatar

The Xbox 360 famously incorporated achievements into video games, giving gamers new reason to see a game to its end. Avatars, however, were a concept used earlier by Nintendo. Adding a twist all its own, Microsoft allows Xbox gamers to earn awards --- essentially achievements for their avatar --- by completing certain achievements. The avatar awards in "Halo 3: ODST," for instance, give gamers the opportunity to show off their gaming prowess and sense of avatar style at the same time.

Instructions

  Unlock the ODST Hoodie by killing five enemies while using VISR mode to earn the Dark Times achievement.

  Complete the Good Samaritan achievement by starting a new campaign and reaching the Data Hive without killing any Engineers to earn the ODST Armor.

  Finish the campaign to unlock the Campaign Complete achievement and get the ODST Helmet.

  Earn the Tourist achievement by accessing and downloading the city map into your VISR to unlock the ODST Shirt.

  Receive the ODST Vidmaster Endure achievement by passing the fourth set of a Firefight mission on four-player heroic LIVE co-op play to equip your avatar with the Recon Helmet.

  Scroll to the Avatar tile on the Xbox Dashboard and press "A." Choose "Customize Avatar," then select "Awards." Go to "Halo Waypoint" to reveal the unlocked ODST goodies for your avatar.
