Sabotaging
During the game, you will come across different items, such as grills and mixers. The game asks if you would like to destroy the item or sabotage it. Destroying the piece gives you instant points, but sabotaging it gives you more points over the long run. When you sabotage a piece, the other bears in the game view it as a working item and attempt to use it. As soon as you see a bear approach the piece, run up and scare it. You earn points every time you scare one of the bears trying to use or repair the piece.
Scaring, not Killing
Weapons including axes, baseball bats, and bear traps are located all around the current level. Killing a bear with one of the weapons, or using your bare hands as a weapon, results in a high number of points. Scaring the bears instead of killing them gives you even more points. Keep scaring the bear until it either kills itself -- giving you bonus points -- or runs away in fear. You can also scare a bear until it comes close to dying and then force it into the center of town. When other bears witness the scares,you get more points.
Pick a Costume
Every time you master a level in Naughty Bear, you're awarded a costume. Use the costumes to progress through difficult stages. When you click on the costume, you're given the statistics for it. Use the best costumes to get through a particular level. If the level requires getting away quickly without getting hit by another bear, then choose the ninja costume, which lets you run faster without making any noise.
Hiding
To get through the game, you need to occasionally hide in the surrounding woods. Only certain types of bears, including samurai bears, are able to spot you in the woods and come after you. The other bears cannot see you and will not venture into the woods. Hiding in the woods lets you quickly scare or attack another bear and then hide before getting hit yourself.
